Love Letters In The Sand

Wrote my love letters in the sand, Beneath the morning sky blue, Knelt there upon a golden shore, A smile occupying my time, The sound of her voice in the still, Laughter caress sweet memory, And the words flowed as one, Odes to a dream once come true, The beauty who brought a light, To reveal all that could be, Where all the pieces do lay, I n her I could only believe, That prayers could be answered, Love held its own magic in time, There in the shine of her eyes
Wrote my love letters in the sand, Till the sunset came for me again, Long shadows stealing across waves, As they wash away all I had written, Swept me away in the silent deep, Where no light shone again, And dreams of her eased the pain, Held out an ailing hand, To find I am the forgotten one, Beyond the salvations of love, Adrift on the tides of madness, Till the words held no meaning, Deafened ears greeted my pleas, Prayers turned to only ashes, For the nightmare in my eyes,
Wrote my love letters in the sand, Gifts to those better memories, Of times spent in the winter sun, When a smile took my breath away, Brightened my dreams all the more, Now I stare out into the waves, Cast my wishes upon the tides, That she finds all she seeks,
Till the silence breaks for me
And the laughter returns, Leads me to better days to come, Somewhere beyond those dreams, For I may believe in magic again, To find a love once more, Alight like the fire in her eyes.
