Homeward

Lost beneath the wane of the moon,
As my time drifts away on the tides,
The stone beneath turns to sands,
While I journey without guiding star,
Nowhere bound alone in the night,
Weary dreams of yesterday clouds,
Blur along the dark in the horizon,
Where the dawn never rises again,
Nor reveal whatever tomorrow be,
Now I am a stranger to the light,
Beyond all that I have come to see,
All that lay forgotten in time,
The truth cascades in the winds,
Filling the sails for one last voyage,
To rejoin the sky in homeward flight.
