Sunset

Enthralled in the colour of her sunset,

Watched as she waited for the storm,

Her eyes alight with sparkling joy,

As the lightning lit the night sky,

A fragile voice against the thunder,

The birdsong of a kindness of soul,

Tears in her eyes drift like the clouds,

And I know on mended wings she fly,

She remains unshakeable like stone,

There is somewhere in her journey,

That I wish for her to one day reach,

For an earthbound angel she pass on by,
